Only one still exists today, but the short-list of marvels of the ancient world lives on. These manmade structures pay tribute to a time before modern technology when dedication and craftsmanship could yield unbelievable results. The seven wonders were selected by Philon of Byzantium in 200 B.C.

Honoring the king of gods, the statue gave a majestic quality to the temple of Zeus at Olympia.
